About Us
Most of my faces are not replicas of the faces of actual people -They live only in my mind until I bring them to life through clay. I see a face with my mind's eye and, using expressions of happiness, scorn, glee, anger, etc., I begin to form the little face.
Although most of the faces I created several years ago seem to have become like old friends to me, I vow no allegiance to my newly created faces. Once I become attached to one of the little guys, he then becomes a part of my private collection and is not for sale. Sometimes, all it takes to become a part of my private collection is just to hang around for a while. If I become accustomed to seeing it, it stays with me forever.
The medium used to form the faces is Fimo and Sculpey clay. The one of a kind sculptures are formed from clay with the pigment already mixed in. The clay for molds are natural in color and the finished pieces must be painted or can be used to make molds. The clay used for molds is stronger and more durable after baking than the colored version. If you drop them, they will not break as easily: The colored clay will almost certainly break if dropped. For that reason, the durable clay is used to form bracelets, earrings and beads. The other is used to sculpt display items.
No matter which clay is used, the sculptures remain pliable until they are placed in a regular household oven for several minutes to bake. The time required for baking is determined by the size of the piece.
Note: This is what I wrote five years ago. Since then, I've changed my mind and they are now for sale. I've decided to make as many mini faces as I possibly can. So now that I stopped being selfish, you can own your own mini face. I am sure you'll grow to love the little fellow. Novaline
Mission Statement
My vow is to pour as much love as I can into each and every mini face I create. Nothing delights me more than seeing the volitile smile that pops up on anyone's face who views them.
